Our Journey

Our Founders, business owners for 20 years dealing with billions of data-driven process events, were introduced to the concept of self-insurance and immediately saw its potential for Small, Medium, and Substantial Entrepreneurs. While the traditional models served their purpose, we identified opportunities to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Dissatisfied with existing market fee structures, we envisioned a more visionary approach using automation and intelligent agents to serve our clients better and provide more value.

Certified Public Accountant

During J’on’s 20 plus years in public accounting, he has held leadership positions with national accounting firms, as well as a Fortune 100 company. J’on has a unique set of skills; in addition to his diverse accounting and SEC background, J’on holds degrees in both Accounting and Computer Science. J’on’s expertise in these areas has allowed him to become successful in bridging the language barrier between solving complex accounting issues, with dynamic technology solutions. In 2016, the California State Society of CPAs, appointed J’on to serve on the statewide technology committee for CPAs.

As a Detroit native, J’on has a deep passion for mentoring inner city youth. Not only does he serve on several Non-Profit boards, but he also donates a significant amount of his time to this passion. In addition to his community involvement, J’on is very involved in the accounting profession. In 2016, Boomer (a national public accounting consortium) selected J’on as one of its “Emerging Leaders in Public Accounting”. In 2018, J’on, along with his partner Leighton Duncan, created Dennis Duncan & Covington, a fully licensed CPA firm to address this need. J’on is also an Advisory Board for many tech startups, providing expert insight on sustainability, financing, and operations. J’on resides in Los Angeles along with his wife and kids. He is a member of Braemar Country Club and enjoys a great round of golf.

External Actuary

With more than 25 years of property/casualty actuarial and risk management consulting experience, Marn Rivelle formed Rivelle Consulting Services (“RCS”) to provide customized solutions for your business needs.

Headquartered in Naples, Florida, RCS offers actuarial and risk management services to self-insurance entities and entities that insure their own risks through their subsidiary insurance companies (i.e., captive insurance companies) in California, throughout the United States, and the Caribbean.

Marn is a frequent speaker at industry conferences including the Cayman Captive ForumNational Council for Self-InsurersCalifornia Association of Joint Powers Authority and Liberty Mutual’s Energy Symposium. 

Marn has been published in the Cayman Captive MagazineCaptive & ART Review, KPMG’s Self-Insurance Insights and KPMG’s Property/Casualty Insights.

Marn has served on committees with the Casualty Actuarial Society and Conference of Consulting Actuaries.

Marn is a Fellow of the Conference of Consulting Actuaries, a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries and an Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society.
